LTH Energy Transition lunch seminar: E.ON's Work on Flexibility and Local Flexibility Markets
The Energy Transition profile area is kicking off this year’s lunch seminar series with an exciting presentation by Tuva Ydén, Project Manager for Flexibility Solutions at E.ON Networks. She will share insights into E.ON Energy Distribution’s work on flexibility and local flexibility markets.
E.ON Energy Distribution is actively addressing capacity challenges in the electricity grid and has been operating local flexibility markets since 2019. These markets aim to optimize the use of existing electricity networks and enable faster connections for more customers. In a local flexibility market, grid owners and customers collaborate to tackle grid challenges. Customers can act as flexibility service providers by reducing their consumption or increasing electricity production during periods of high demand. This approach frees up capacity, allowing grid owners to connect customers more efficiently while rewarding flexibility providers for their adjusted electricity usage.
Take this opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of E.ON’s work on flexibility solutions, learn how local flexibility markets operate, and engage in a discussion on the challenges and opportunities within the energy transition.
