Sustainability Week 2026 – LTH’s Program

For the 10th time, Lund University is organising Sustainability Week together with Lund Municipality. With over 70 events over six days, sustainability topics will be highlighted in different ways within social, ecological and economic sustainability. It is a week of discussion and action, serious issues and hopeful visions of the future.

Sustainability week’s seminar series: 10 back, 10 forward for the energy transition

Location: Hörsalen at Pufendorf institute, Biskopsgatan 3, Lund

Welcome to a breakfast seminar focusing on whether we are going backwards or forwards in the energy transition. It will map progress and lessons learned during the last decade and discuss what is in store for the future.

Minor Field Studies: Exploring sustainability insights from around the world

Experience powerful firsthand insights on social, economic, and environmental sustainability as Lund University students return from fieldwork across the world. Join a dynamic session where real stories and sharp perspectives bring global sustainability challenges to life through student research.

Biodiversity is being depleted. When species disappear, it affects much more than nature itself – our food supply, our livelihoods, vital ecosystem services, future medical breakthroughs and places for recreation are all at stake.

Ready for the heat? Strategies for a warmer climate

Date and time: April 14 at 11.00–12.00
Location: Stadsbiblioteket in Lund, Atriumgården

Heat waves are becoming more frequent, longer, and more intense. What can we do to prepare for a warmer future? What does the research say? And what role does the municipality play? Join us for a panel discussion that takes the pulse of the current state of knowledge—and the path forward.

Refashion & Reflect: Sustainable Fashion at X-Lab

Date and time: April 14 at 15.00–16.30
Location: X-lab at LTH

Come together at X-Lab makerspace for a discussion and action around sustainable fashion. Explore the issues, hear about innovative solutions being developed right here at Lund University — then take part in a clothes swap! Bring up to 5 items you no longer wear and leave with something new-to-you.

Democracy and climate transition – How can we create engagement together?

About Sustainability week

Sustainability Week is an annual event where Lund University and Lund Municipality invite people to a week of activities focusing on sustainability. A wide range of topics are discussed during the week, all events are free of charge and everyone is welcome.

This year, Sustainability Week celebrates its 10th anniversary! We are marking the occasion with a particularly packed programme, in which we both look back at what has happened over the years and look ahead to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
