Abstract

LLM chatbots are becoming common in software development, yet their use and governance remain unsettled. Drawing on an observational study with developers and interviews with managers, this talk explores how chatbots are adopted in practice and how organizations respond. Francisco will outline common practitioners’ experiences that shape usage, and examine the contexts, barriers, and strategies that guide policy-making. Together, these perspectives highlight both the opportunities and tensions of bringing chatbots into everyday software engineering.
