Biomedical Engineering Lab

Lab facilities are available in the areas of electrical measurements, ultrasound technology, microfluidics and acoustofluidics. The labs are located on the LTH Lund University Campus in the E-building.

In-house expertise

Fundamental methods and instrumentation for electrical measurements below 100 MHz, ultrasound transducers and diagnostic ultrasound, design and evaluation of microfluidic systems in glass, silicon and PDMS, design and evaluation of acoustofluidic systems.

Equipment

  • Digital oscilloscopes, arbitrary function generators, counters, impedance analyzers, spectrum analyzers.
  • Ultrasound hydrophones, xyz-stages for ultrasound field characterizations, diagnostic ultrasound systems.
  • Equipment for microfluidic and acoustofluidic systems; pumps, microscopes, signal generators, power amplifiers up to 20 MHz.
  • Microfabrication lab for silicon, glass and polymers.

Typical users

Start-up companies and established companies interested in testing ideas or evaluating prototypes in the above areas.

User skill requirements

A basic knowledge of how to use the equipment is expected, but a brief introduction to the equipment is included. Staff members are available for assistance depending on your specific requirements.

Insurance & safety

The instruments in our lab are very sensitive and expensive. Therefore we expect users to have an insurance. Contact us for more information on this.
All users must sign a safety and security agreement before entering our premises and using the equipment.
