Who are you?
“I am Babs Kunle, the new project coordinator at LTH Water and the Division of Water Resources Engineering. With over fifteen years of experience in academia, primarily focused on international education consulting, project management, international partnerships, research grant applications, and strategic communication, couple with my academic background in Environmental Management and Toxicology, and my extensive work at Lund University's Division of External Relations (former workplace), I have managed to acquire a unique perspective on how critical a well-coordinated research can be in shaping impactful outcomes.”
“Having grown up in Nigeria, I witnessed first-hand the challenges and benefits that effective water resource management can bring to communities, and I’m excited to now bring that personal and professional passion to the Faculty of Engineering.”
What is your mission for the profile area?
"My mission is to ensure a smooth coordination and communication across the various research projects within LTH Water. This includes a number of tasks, namely supporting project planning, management, reporting and dissemination. Another key aspect of this role is to facilitate an effective communication between researchers, external partners, and stakeholders via regular emails and newsletters, social media content creation, organizing formal and informal workshops, mingle events and much more."
"By fostering collaboration and organizing regular workshops, seminars and meetings, I hope to support the members of LTH Water in advancing innovative solutions for the profile area and beyond."
What are you most looking forward to in your work with the profile area?
"I am looking forward to working with a passionate group of researchers and innovators, all focused on addressing some of the world’s most pressing water-related challenges. Most importantly, offering my support by strategically communicating internally and externally with stakeholders. Another aspect of my role as it pertains to coordination and communication is the dissemination of project results, it is therefore not unusual that I from time to time join our researchers in the field be it locally or internationally to assist with documenting processes, activities that are useful for report writing as well as acquiring contents for social media usage."
Is there anything else you want to tell us about yourself?
"I’m always open to new ideas, suggestions and feedback on how we can improve the profile area—so don’t hesitate to reach out if something comes to mind."
"Oh, and when I’m not coordinating projects at the Faculty of Engineering, you’ll find me in the dance studio giving Afrodance classes, on the padel court or some of the basketball courts across Lund and Malmö. In addition to my professional work, I’m also deeply involved in cultural activities. I believe that creativity and collaboration are essential in all areas of life, and I try to bring that energy into every project I work on. I’m excited to bring my skills, enthusiasm, and collaborative spirit to the Water profile area."
