Teaching, Learning and Supervision in Higher Education for Adjunct University Teachers
This course is part of the qualifying programme in teaching and learning in higher education at LTH. It is a boiled down adapted version of LTHs overview courses intended exclusively for adjunct LTH teachers who work mainly within business, industry, or public workplaces outside the higher education sector, and are employed as adjunct university teachers at LTH up to 20% of their working time.
The course revolves around scholarly approaches and reasoning in relation to pedagogical tasks conducted by adjunct teachers at LTH, in order to support sound decision-making in teaching and supervision. This includes elements of current national and local educational policies. The course also aims to include adjunct university teachers in current teaching and learning discourses and initiatives of teachers at LTH and in the use of LTH-specific educational structures (for example the course evaluation system). Educational issues of effective specialist knowledge transfer from the adjunct teachers to the LTH students is a key element of the course.
Course structure
The course is given in Swedish or English depending on who signs up, and typically groups consist of just a few participants. The course starts with two meetings where basic concepts of teaching and supervision in higher education are introduced, along with the educational strategies of the faculty. The course is assessed with written and defended participant accounts of scholarly underpinned analyses of teaching and supervision design developments. A learning web platform is used to facilitate remote course participant activities. For current dates, see information box to the right.

The course is aimed exclusively for adjunct university teachers, or persons who will soon become so, at LTH. All qualified participants are accepted.
