City in a new light – at H22

Our Future City is Lund University's contribution to H22 City Expo, organised by the City of Helsingborg between 30 May and 3 July. As part of Our Future City, LTH researchers will share knowledge on how e-commerce can be conducted with a good environmental conscience, on how wastewater can support sustainability as well as the question of whether our future society can be both smart and safe.

Sustainability is of course on the agenda during Our Future City and H22. For example, by 2025, Swedish households are expected to send two million parcels every day. But is it possible to shop online with a clear environmental conscience, and what will it take to make the e-commerce of the future sustainable? Two questions that are being discussed by LTH researchers and others.

Is online shopping environmentally friendly? Can fashion ever be sustainable? What does climate smart tourism look like? What is the impact of trade on vulnerable areas? And what role should universities play in the society?

Welcome to the Our Future City research festival, where researchers from Lund University will discuss the sustainable cities and societies of the future, based on Agenda 2030.

The popular science talks are aimed at the general public and are part of the international city fair H22 City Expo. The main moderator is Heidi Avellan, political editor-in-chief at HD-Sydsvenskan.
