Within research there are seven areas with special, interdisciplinary excellence: aerosols, AI and digitalization, circular building industry, energy transition, nanoscience, photon science and technology for health. These research areas have special strength and potential, and with them LTH can further utilize synergies, mobilize expertise, and build strong collaborations with the private sector and society as a whole.

Together with LTH, the two world-class research facilities MAX IV and ESS form a world unique infrastructure for development and innovation. An interdisciplinary ecosystem is emerging around these facilities, with LTH and Lund University as a driving force.

Research contributes to improvements and benefits of our society – including the multiple innovations and companies that have emanated from LTH. Ultrasound technology, Oatly and Proviva - each year research results and student work at LTH are refined into innovations and companies.

At LTH, Faculty of Engineering, we offer 20 Integrated MSc programmes, 19 International Master's programmes in English, as well as four joint master programmes, and over 400 courses for exchange students.
