The Crafoord Prize Lecture in Geosciences 2026
The 2026 Crafoord Prize is awarded to Veerabhadran Ramanathan, University of California San Diego, USA, “for fundamental contributions to our understanding of how aerosol particles and other climate pollutants influence the atmospheric energy balance and the Earth system.”
Welcome to the official Prize Lecture in honour of the Crafoord Prize Laureate 2026 in Geosciences. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has awarded the 2026 Crafoord Prize to Veerabhadran Ramanathan, University of California San Diego, USA. He has laid the foundation for our understanding of how small particles and gases that accumulate in the atmosphere contribute to climate change. This knowledge is vitally important for combatting global warming.
For more information and registration, please see the webpage of The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Crafoord Prize Lecture in Geosciences 2026. Register on 11 May at the latest.
The lecture can also be followed live (no registration required).
