From: 2024-11-06 11:15 to 12:00 Seminarium

Jonas Enarsson, PhD student at the Division of Ergonomics and Aerosol technology, will give a presentation on his work about ”Real-time measurement of reactive oxygen species emitted from indoor particle sources”.

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are considered to be an indicator of particle-induced toxicity. However, many species have short half-lives and cannot be detected by the more common measurement techniques that use filter sampling. We used a novel instrument, called Particle Into Nitroxide Quencher (PINQ), for real-time quantification of particle-bound ROS from indoor particle sources. The presentation will give an overview ROS measurement methods, including PINQ, and show the results from ROS measurements of six different indoor particle sources. The strengths and limitations of PINQ and its potential in particle toxicity screening will be discussed.

No registration is needed.
