Welcome to this year’s joint honorary doctor seminar hosted by the Faculty of Science and LTH.

Join us for a morning of inspiring perspectives, where leading researchers and innovators share insights from their fields as well as reflections on their academic journeys.

During the seminar, four distinguished honorary doctors will present their work and experiences – spanning topics from the mysteries of the universe to sustainable agriculture and data-driven industry.

Honorary Doctors 2026

Faculty of Science:

• Jonathan (Joss) Bland-Hawthorn, Professor of Physics, University of Sydney, Australia.
  Presentation: The mysterious dark universe.
   
• Jannette Carey, Professor of Chemistry, Princeton University, USA.
  Presentation: Understanding biology through molecular interactions

LTH:

• Gustaf Ramel, farmer and innovator in sustainable agriculture.
  Presentation on innovation and resilience in future agriculture.
   
• Margret Bauer, Professor of Process Control, HAW Hamburg, Germany.
  Presentation: What process automation can teach us about the future job market in times of AI.
  This talk shines a light on the hidden technology of industrial automation and control. 

The seminar is open to all and offers a chance to meet this year’s honorary doctors, gain new insights and be inspired by their work across disciplines.
