The recruitment is part of the Lund University Programme for Global Excellence, a university-wide initiative aimed at recruiting outstanding researchers to Lund University. A record number of recruitments were made in 2025, and the initiative is now continuing. This time, the focus is on areas such as sustainability, civil defense, semiconductor materials, energy, and quantum technology.
“It is important that LTH can continue to recruit highly qualified international researchers, and this initiative is a key part of that effort. It is particularly gratifying to be able to recruit in such important and prominent fields as civil defense and crisis management, sustainability, semiconductor materials, and immunotechnology. It also demonstrates the university’s continued commitment to safeguarding academic freedom and high-quality international collaborations, says Annika Olsson, dean at Faculty of Engineering.
The following positions are currently open at LTH:
· Collaborative civil defense and crisis management, with a focus on computational methods
· Heterogeneous integration of semiconductor materials
· Quantum technology (position at LTH or the Faculty of Science)
· Energy sciences with a focus on district heating, district cooling, and sector coupling
· Immunotechnology with a focus on a focus on cancer immunotherapy
The positions, which are open for applications until May or June, are funded by university-wide funds totaling 70 million Swedish kronor. Additional funding may be provided by departments and faculties.
