About LTH

A place for dreams and discoveries

At LTH, we educate people, build knowledge for the future and work hard to develop society. We create space for brilliant research and inspire creative development of technology, architecture and design.

LTH, Faculty of Engineering at Lund University, is Sweden’s third‑largest institution for higher technical education and research. Since 1969, LTH has been part of Lund University, founded in 1666 and consistently ranked as one of the world’s leading universities.

At LTH, there are several of the most attractive courses in Sweden, as well as broad research. Each year, a range of student work and research results are developed into innovations. Together we explore and create – to benefit the world.

LTH has nearly 12,000 students and 1,600 employees from all over the world. The majority of courses are held in Lund, but we also educate university engineers in Helsingborg. The School of Aviation in Ljungbyhed is also a part of LTH's campus.

We have more than a thousand scientists working hard to create good living conditions for people and a more considered use of the Earth’s resources.

LTH has a stake in, and close proximity to, MAX IV and ESS. Around these global flagship facilities, a dense research and innovation environment is taking shape.

With a central location in the Öresund region – and a bridge link to Copenhagen – LTH and Lund University offer the opportunity to live and work in an environment that is open, international and characterised by the search for new knowledge.
