The graduation ceremony on May 25, 2020 is canceled as a result of Covid-19
The graduation ceremony on May 25, 2020 is canceled as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak. LTH is looking into the possibility of organising an extra graduation ceremony in the fall of 2020. Decisions will be made later on.
LTH holds two graduation ceremonies per year to honour students graduating at our Faculty.
Invitations to the spring graduation ceremony
Invitations will automatically be sent out by email to master's students in year 2 that fulfil the criteria. No notification is required. You will receive an invitation for the ceremony held on 25 May 2020 given that you latest 6 April, in Ladok, fulfill the following criteria:
- you have passed 82,5 credits or more
- your Degree Project is registered in Ladok
- you have not participated in the ceremony at a previous occasion.
It is the student's responsibility to make sure that all results have been entered into Ladok. Contact the departement well in advance if you are lacking a result from a course. A reminder will be sent out in March to all students in year 2.
To participate in the ceremony at a later time
If you have been delayed with your studies and want to take part in the ceremony at a later time than normal pace you need to notify Cecilia Nilsson email@example.com. To take part in the ceremony December 2020 you need to fulfil the criterias mention above and send in your notification of interest latest October 2020 (both dates to be decided).
It should include your:
- personal number (YYMMDD-XXXX)
The subject should be: Notification of interest Graduation Ceremony.
Invitation and registration
Please note that you have to respond to the invitation if you want to take part in the ceremony. The invitation will provide you with a link and instructions on how to register. If you have not responded to the invitation before the deadline it will not be possible for you to attend the ceremony. The invitation will be sent to the e-mail address that is registered in LADOK.
It is the student's responsibility to make sure the email address in Ladok is correct.
At the Graduation Ceremony, the students receive a Diploma. This is not to be confused with the Degree Certificate, which is the formal document that you will use to prove that you have passed your degree. The Diploma is more ornamental and has no formal value.
If you are not able to attend the graduation ceremony but still wish to receive a Diploma you need to send a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org to inform us that you won't attend the ceremony but wish to receive the Diploma. Remember to provide the address you would like the Diploma sent to. LTH will not be able to print Diplomas subsequently.
The graduation ceremony will be held in the auditorium of the main university building in Lundagård. Approximately one hour before the start of the ceremony, a mandatory rehearsal is held for the participating students. It is very important that you show up on time for the rehearsal!
During the ceremony, your Diploma will be handed out by the Dean along with the Deputy Dean. The actual ceremony will last approximately 1 ½ hours and is bi-lingual, Swedish/English. After the presentation of the diplomas there will be speeches held by the Dean, the Deputy Dean, the president of the student union and an honorary guest-speaker. Song and music will be provided during the intermissions between the speeches.
The ceremony will be concluded with a social event in the atrium.
Business casual. If you feel unsure about what to wear, please check the video on this page. Some international students choose to wear traditional festive clothes.
Due to limited space in the auditorium, the amount of guests is limited. Information about the number of guests you are allowed to invite can be found in the invitation.
The graduation ceremony will be filmed and published on YouTube. A link to the film will be published on the LTH Facebook page. An individual photo will be taken of all students that receive a diploma during the ceremony. These photos will be published on the LTH Facebook page. Please inform us at email@example.com if you do not wish to have your photo published.
