Back to Start

The kitchen workbench is a suggestion to bring back a place for creative activities such as maintaining, repairing and creating in the home. These types of activities are easily overlooked in today’s often smaller, urban living arrangements as space is precious and furnishing fragile to glue, paint and scratches.

While thinking about how, and where people would do such things as repairing, maintaining and creating in their homes, the kitchen seemed to be the ideal place. It’s the most “public” space in a home where family members meet, talk and learn from each other which is ideal for creative tasks. The workbench has integrated storage for harboring basic tools and both surfaces of the solid beech worktop can be accessed to enable the coexistence of domestic and workshop purposes.
