Citation searching and Impact factors

We gladly help you with citation searching and impact factors. During a seminar together with a workshop we focus on how to find information in the citation databases Web of Science and Scopus with the help of citation searching. Both databases contain information on for example cited articles and author index. In Web of Science you will find Journal Impact Factor (JIF) while Scopus instead uses other bibliometric instruments, such as CiteCore, SCImago Journal Rank indicator (SJR) and Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP).  The seminar is focused mainly on:

  • Your own research area and citing frequency (onwards and backwards in time).
  • Identifying possible ways of cooperation and the effects of their research.
  • Identifying the journals mostly cited within your research area.
  • Measurement and index for research scoop and productivity.
