Sahlberg Scholarship for promising chemical engineer
The Sahlberg Scholarship for 2022 has been awarded to Abdallah Almashhrawi.
Sparbanken Skåne Research Prize 2022 to Louise Green
The Sparbanksstiftelsen Färs and Frosta awards the Sparbanken Skåne Prize to a new doctor at LTH for particularly outstanding doctoral thesis. In 2022, the prize will be awarded to Louise Green for her thesis in the subject of Aerosol Technology.
Sparbanksstiftelsen Färs och Frosta Master's Prize
In connection with LTH's graduation ceremony, the Sparbanksstiftelsen Färs and Frosta awards two Master's prizes of SEK 25,000 each for particularly outstanding degree projects in the field of sustainable development. New prize rewards innovative dissemination of sustainability research
The new Lund University Agenda 2030 Award wants to promote innovative and interdisciplinary research on sustainable development by early career scholars at the university. Alexandra Nikoleris is the first winner and is praised for her innovative work in designing creative and sustainable future scenarios.
Professor Anne L'Huillier awarded Wolf Prize in Physics
The Wolf Prize in Physics has been awarded to Anne L'Huillier at Lund University, Paul Corkum at the University of Ottawa, and Ferenc Krausz at the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics and Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. They were selected for pioneering contributions to ultrafast laser science and attosecond physics.
Two LTH researchers receive ERC Starting Grants
LTH researchers Carmelo D’Agostino and Lea Fünfschilling have each been awarded European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grants for their research on automated vehicles, and on the dynamics of transformative innovation and knowledge, respectively.
Large grant for competence centre on sustainable turbine fuels
Eleven competence centres will share 600 million SEK from the Swedish Energy Agency to accelerate the transition away from the fossil fuel society and strengthen Sweden's competitiveness. LTH coordinates one competence centre and participates in three others.
Large grants for research solving Nordic challenges
Eleven projects are funded by the research programme "Future Challenges in the Nordics — People, Culture and Society". More than 100 million will be awarded. Two of the projects are led from Lund.
ERC Advanced Grant for research on ferroelectric transistors
Lars-Erik Wernersson, professor of nanoelectronics, has received an ERC Advanced Grant for the integration of new materials into the high-performance, energy-efficient transistors and circuit solutions of the future.
