One Computer Science BSc thesis to be presented on 9 May
Monday, 9 May there will be a bachelor's thesis presentation in Computer Science at Lund University, Faculty of Engineering.
The presentation will take place in E:4130 (Lucas).
Note to potential opponents: Register as an opponent to the presentation of your choice by sending an email to the examiner for that presentation (firstname.lastname@example.org). Do not forget to specify the presentation you register for! Note that the number of opponents may be limited (often to two), so you might be forced to choose another presentation if you register too late. Title: Functional Reactive Programming of a Mobile Robot
Examiner: Elin A. Topp
Supervisor: Jacek Malec (LTH)
Functional reactive programming is a way to coordinate real life events with internal processes in a digitised system. The resulting system is both understandable because of the intuitive nature of the streams of information it generates and expandable because of its modularity. This paper will examine how useful this approach is in a real world application by employing the paradigm to create a simple program for the Heron mobile robot. While this approach is promising, it is currently a cumbersome task due to the relative niche of the combination of languages and methods employed, and would therefore benefit from a stronger ecosystem of tools and libraries.
