Topic: Making Program Analysis Useful Together

When: 22 April March 2020 at 13.00-15.00

Where: Online.

Many of the program analyzers used today like PyLint or FindBugs, are open-source and frequently used in software development. These tools provide useful insights but also have many false positives and are often poorly integrated into the developer workflow. In a recent exploratory study at Axis we have developed a new open-source platform for data-driven deployment of program analysis focused on providing useful program analysis. We want to share this platform and build a community where we strive to make program analysis useful together.
At this instance of Software@LTH we would like to present what we have learned from our exploratory study at Axis, explain our vision for how we make program analysis useful together, and above all we want to hear your thoughts.

13:00 Welcome (Per Runeson, Emma Söderberg)

13:05 Making Program Analysis Useful Together (Emma Söderberg) [RECORDING]

13:20 Data-driven Deployment of Program Analysis at Axis (Anton Ljungberg, David Åkerman) [RECORDING]

13:40 Axis & Program Analysis (Gustaf Lundh) [RECORDING]

14:00 Focus groups about sharing of analyzer data (Emma Söderberg, Martin Höst, Luke Church)

15:00 End of workshop

To support competence building on software engineering and technology through the industry-academia ecosystem in southern Sweden, we have initiated a series of quarterly workshops. It is an open network, driven by commitment from industry and academia partners who consider this competence provisioning be important. The workshops include short presentations on recent or ongoing research, master thesis projects and industry experiences, followed by discussions and matchmaking for collaborative actions.
