Erik Gärtner's half year seminar will be held on 16 June

16 June there will be a seminar by Erik Gärtner. The seminar starts at 10:00 and ends 11:30 and is broadcast via Zoom. To access to seminar, please contact Elin Anna Topp via to request a Zoom link.

This seminar summarizes the work performed during my PhD which covers three distinct but related topics. The first two papers introduce and study the problem of active human pose estimation where we study the problem of how an active observer should best move to observe and reconstruct human subjects. Next, we introduce the task of active embodied learning where we study how an agent should explore an unknown environment and request annotations in order to learn a perceptual model, in our case a semantic segmentation network. Finally, the seminarie covers research on improving 3d human pose estimation through physical constraints modeled using traditional rigid body dynamics. Demonstrating that combining trajectory optimization can effectively be used to improve joint errors and reduce reconstruction artifacts.
