Sommarkurs i Xiamen, Kina, för programstudenter på W och V

Du som läser ekosystemteknik eller väg- och vattenteknik har möjlighet att delta i en sommarkurs vid Xiamen University, Xiamen, Kina. Kursen (VVRF05) ger 7,5 hp och ges från april-september, där 4 veckor är förlagda i Kina (20 juni – 16 juli, 2016). Genom ett projektarbete tillsammans med kinesiska studenter får du erfarenhet av interkulturellt samarbete i en internationell miljö. I april inleds studierna med två seminarier, där projekten och litteratur presenteras. Kursen avslutas i september med ett slutseminarium. Självstudier innan avresa ingår. Exakta datum bestäms inför kursstart.

UCD+NCAD (National College of Art & Design) 2017 International Summer School

The application system for the Summer School is now open.  

The 2017 International Summer School titled; “City Life: Architecture, Art and Design in Dublin” will run for 3-weeks in June 2017.       

Information on the 2017 Summer School including the five individual track details, video highlights, a blog, an image gallery and student testimonials are now available to view on our website at http://ncad-ucd.ie/summer-school/ 

Key Features of the 2017 Summer School:

1.       3-week intensive taught summer programme for academic and cultural enrichment – Monday 12th June to Friday, 30th June. 

2.       Based in the vibrant city centre NCAD campus with public gallery space to house an exhibition of participants’ work.

3.       High calibre studio and teaching staff.

4.       Workshops by internationally renowned architects, designers, and theorists.

5.       Mix of interdisciplinary teamwork and specialised subject tracks for skills acquisition.

6.       International students will participate along with students from UCD and NCAD.

7.       Recommend to award 6 US credits (10 ECTS) for the successful completion of the Programme.

Riga Technical University - Summer Schools taking place in Latvia in August 2017

1 - Summer School «Nonlinear Life»:

It will be held from August 20 till August 31 August, 2017 in the capital of Latvia – Riga and in the largest city of Latgale (one of the four regions of Latvia) – Daugavpils, where the biggest affiliation of RTU is situated. Journey within this summer school will lead students through mathematics, medical physics, mechanics, medical engineering dealing with nonlinear systems of objects.

 

Students will attend lectures of scientists in the fields of dynamics of nonlinear systems, medical engineering and physics. Seminars will cover topics such as preparation of scientific publications, computer simulation of nonlinear dynamic systems and will be organized in the research facilities of RTU.

Participation fee is EUR 700. The deadline for submitting the application is 5 May 2017.

2 - Summer School «Woodcraft and Art Summer School»:

Students from all over the world who are interested in wooden design are welcome to join the «Woodcraft and Art Summer School» taking place in Riga and Ligatne (Latvia) from 14 -25 August 2017 organized by the Institute of Design Technologies of the Faculty of Material Science and Applied Chemistry and the International Relations Department of RTU.

The summer school offers a programme consisting of lectures, workshops and discussions, company site visits, countryside visits, guided excursions and exciting parties. The programme will be conducted by a local team – designers, artists, technologists, designing engineers and invited experts. There will be lectures on different aspects of wood manufacturing and design. In addition to the lecture programme, practical work in groups will be carried out providing the possibility to work with woodworking machines processing sewn timber and manual woodworking tools processing round timber. This summer school will provide you with knowledge in wood design, materials, technology, compounds and skills of wooden product manufacturing. You will also get a closer look at Latvia through introduction of traditional woodcraft objects closely linked to Latvian lifestyle and traditions.

Participation fee is EUR 700. The deadline for submitting the application is 5 May 2017.

2017 Dongguk International Summer School

It will take place at the campus centered in Seoul from July 3rd to August 4th 2017! 

In total, English-taught courses are offered ranging from Economics, Business, Religion to Korean cultural studies, film and language. 

Special lecture by a producer at a Korean broadcasting company and various 
culture experiences of temple stay, baseball game, hiking are offered optionally as well.

Summer School at the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in Indonesia from 2 to 15 July


In the frame of the Joint Master in Sustainable Automotive Engineering (JMSAE) starting in September 2017 the University of Antwerp is organizing together with the JMSAE Consortium a Summer School at the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in Indonesia from 2 to 15 July. 

The first two Summer Schools were organized in Europe (Bilbao – Spain, July 2015 & Bordeaux – France, July 2016).  By organizing the Summer School in Indonesia, the Consortium is aiming to attract not only students from Europe but also beyond and will give the European students the opportunity to get to know educational and cultural differences in the ASEAN region. 

Students will also have the opportunity to present their research works (Bachelor and Master Thesis) on the final day of the Summer School during the ASEAN Engineering Student Conference. The price for the best research work will be a waiver for the Joint Master’s Programme.

Summer Research Projects at Temple University

Temple University was selected as a host institution by the Institute for International Education (IIE) for the Summer 2017 Global Experience & Training (GET) initiative. This 6-week program, June 19 – August 1, 2017, connects ambitious and academically gifted international undergraduates with hands-on research opportunities in the US.   

Research projects are supervised 30-hours per week by a faculty member, who will offer academic and professional guidance. Additionally, GET students will have a 3-credit independent study to write a corresponding research paper for their project. At the of the 6-week term, GET students will submit their research papers and give a poster presentation illustrating the research methods used and outcomes achieved over the summer. 

Temple University’s Global Programs will provide orientation, which will include information sessions designed to acclimate students to Temple and Philadelphia, as well as activities introducing US culture and life. 

The GET program fee will include the 3-credit internship along with housing, meals, and all activities.  

GET initiative details:

Brazilian Seminars / Summer Program at PUC-Rio (July 2017)

The Brazilian Seminars is an International Summer program that will be offered next July 2017, and it takes place at PUC-Rio, Rio de Janeiro, for the duration of 12 business days. 

It is a 48h (3 University credits) interdisciplinary program of lectures and off-class activities.

Through a combination of lectures on different areas of interest, ranging from politics and economics to environment, from culture and social issues to public health, the program will provide students, young scholars and international administrators with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge about Brazil and discuss the current issues that are in the global scenario.

The participants will also have the opportunity to combine the Brazilian Seminars with a 20h intensive course of Portuguese language that will be offered during the previous week before the regular program starts. Please note that this is an optional course and there is an extra fee for it.
