The course inspires and supports teachers in engineering in their use of digital media in various forms of teaching. The aim of the initial workshop is to highlight some of the underlying educational principles in using technology in learning and teaching in order to support students in higher education in both campus-based and off-campus based contexts. It is not to teach the use of particular technologies per se but to present some guiding principles of how technology might be used in practice. The project aim is to let the participants develop their own teaching in relation to the theme of this course.
Course form
The course starts with a three day workshop 21-23 November 2011 (where the middle day is left for individual reading).
Then there is a supervised individual project work based on the use of digital resources in the participants own teaching.
The course ends with a final result sharing workshop day in mid-spring 2012.
Participation on the workshop days is compulsory.
The course is given in English and corresponds to 2 or 3 weeks of compulsory higher education teacher training depending on the scope and level of the project work.
