Call for applications for funding of thematic cooperation initiatives

Lund University offers funding opportunities to support thematic cooperation initiatives in order to facilitate new interdisciplinary partnerships within and outside the University, with a focus on future challenges.

One of the University’s tasks is to help solve key societal challenges. In order to successfully create such solutions, broad interdisciplinary collaborations within academia must engage with organisations outside the University. This is particularly emphasized in the 2016 Government research bill. For a long time Lund University has been involved in interdisciplinary collaborations, focusing on future challenges. This is also an important point in the new strategic plan.

To enable the development of interdisciplinary collaborations, Lund University is calling for applications for funding of thematic cooperation initiatives, starting 2017, amounting to a maximum of SEK 500,000 a year for 3 years with the possibility of an extension for another 2 years.

When: the application deadline is April 1, 2017. The funding will be allocated as of the autumn semester of 2017.

If you have questions, please contact Head of Office Lisa Thelin lisa.thelin@fsi.lu.se or Pro Vice-Chancellor Bo Ahrén bo.ahren@rektor.lu.se. Applications are to be submitted to samverkan@lu.se.

Infrastructure of the month

At Lund University we have excellent research infrastructure to support research in medicine, biology, and biomedicine. Every month we highlight one special infrastructure to increase the awareness of the available techniques.

The infrastructure of this Month is LBIC SPECT/PET/CT-platform

The LBIC SPECT/PET/CT-platform can help you to:

  • study the effects of new drug treatments
  • follow molecule transport in vivo
  • see if a tumor has metastases
  • see which organs are affected by your molecule

The noninvasive PET/SPECT/CT techniques make it possible to follow processes over time. Contact us to use the equipment yourself, or to get help from our experts throughout the process.
