Abstract: Animation motion synthesis is needed in applications such as computer games, simulation applications, simulation environments for self-driving cars, and robotics. Recent advances in deep learning have allowed learnt animation models to be used in these kinds of applications. The learnt models give rise to improvements in the quality of the motion while fulfilling the runtime performance requirements. The presentation will give a quick introduction to the field of animation, then present related work and an overview of some of the most recent papers published in the literature on this subject. The focus of the presentation will be on the animation of the motion of characters.
