This lab is situated at the Ingvar Kamprad Design Centre (IKDC) and is the primary facility for RE-FLEX. The Virtual Reality Lab comprises two large areas, the main Hall which is 200 m2 and the development lab which is 150 m2. These areas are further subdivided into individual equipment areas. A diversity of high technology systems are available for usage. This includes: multi-large-screen, fully immersive, Virtual Reality with surround sound, datagloves and stereo vision, various smaller screens to allow individuals to interact with complex virtual environments; haptic devices to give a feeling of solidity in a virtual environment; a vehicle simulator and a Head Mounted Display with datagloves. Both opensource and commercial software is used.
