Back to Start

Since it was decided (in 2009) to phase out the incandescent lightbulb, new lighting technologies have made it increasingly important for everyone to know about “new” parameters such as:

color rendering, color temperature, lumen, lux and candela.

The lighting tool is intended to be part of a course about light and lighting for students in school. Guided by a teacher the students will assemble and produce most of the parts themselves by laser cutting and 3D-printing. The finished tool enables them to experience different aspects of light simultaneously as they are taught in theory. Education about light can be rather abstract at times but this way the students can connect the knowledge they gain to real life lighting situations.

By building the tool themselves, not only will the students gain deeper understanding about light and lighting, but also be better equipped to make things themselves in the future.
