Study Plans and Research Subjects

Subject curriculum

Every research studies subject is to have a general syllabus. The syllabus contains a brief description of the subject and the learning outcomes in addition to those given in the Higher Education Ordinance.

Please note!
The subject curriculums have been revised according to decision 20 November 2018, regarding compulsory course Introductory Workshop for Newly Admitted Doctoral Students at LTH, GEM056F. The decision applies to PhD-students with an admission date of 1 January 2019 or later. Decision regarding addition “or equivalent” has been taken 2019-03-12. Therefore the curriculums must be revised once again. The revised curriculums will be uploaded on the homepage as soon as this has been made. For questions, please contact the PhD-administration at the Faculty of Engineering.

The subject curriculum also specifies:

  • specific admission requirements for research studies in the subject
  • selection methods in the event of there being more applicants than places
  • number of credits required for a licentiate, from both courses and a licentiate thesis
  • number of credits required for a PhD, from both courses and a doctoral thesis
