Degree certificates are issued by Lund University's Degree Office on application by the doctoral student. Applications must be made on a special form. (This form is also valid for LTH, even if stated otherwise on the form. The degree office has not yet updated the form.)
If the degree requirements have been fulfilled at the time of application.
The application is to include confirmation that all components required for the degree have been completed.
For a PhD, the doctoral student must have passed the courses included in the programme and have passed a doctoral thesis. The thesis must have been defended orally at a public seminar. A PhD comprises 240 credits.
For a licentiate, the student must have passed the courses included in the programme and have passed a licentiate thesis. The thesis must have been presented and reviewed at a public seminar. A licentiate comprises 120 credits.
