Vision and objectives

Making the world's growing cities healthy, attractive and sustainable is an exceptional challenge, which the masters programme Sustainable Urban Desing addresses. The SUDes programme aims to produce highly skilled professionals, capable of meeting the challenge of sustainable urban design as productive, sucessful individuals who are creative, insight ful and intellectually skilled in their approach to the profession and their practice. The programme provides students with a coherent understanding of the important environmental issues in urban design. Students will develop analytical and critical skills, learn various necessary representational and communicative techniques and be introduced to tools and policies for successful implementation of urban design.

Objectives
The objectives of the master's progamme in Sustainable Urban Design are to:

• equip students with the skills necessary to practice as an urban designer with particular expertise in sustainable urban design,
• offer a broad education, covering the most important aspects of sustainability related to urban design,
• provide students with the competence to manifest specific social, economic and environmental intentions in physical form through urban design,
• preparing students for professional practice and continuing life-long intellectual development, and
• taking advantage of the possibilities created by a multinational student group.
