The Master of Arts in Design, Industrial Design, acquired after four semesters of study, qualifies students to assume a leading role as internationally oriented creative coordinators and leaders of thought. They are equally well prepared to become entrepreneurs or enter scientific research.
The curriculum is flexible, consisting of individual industrial design projects, elective courses and mandatory common academics, which are drawn in from specialised faculties of Lund University. The industrial design projects are chosen from a given thematic repertoire, by modular combination from a selection within the thematic repertoire or by proposition of an individual theme within the framework of the thematic repertoire, monitored in coordination with an elected team of supervisors.

The curriculum concerns a two-year program. The first semester, covering basic topics in fire safety engineering, is taught in Ghent and Edinburgh. All students spend the second semester in Lund, with emphasis on enclosure fire dynamics risk analysis and human behaviour. The third semester is again taught in Ghent (for ‘general FSE’) and Edinburgh (with focus on structural engineering in the context of FSE). The fourth semester is devoted to the master’s thesis, hosted by one or more of the three institutes.
The program starts for the first time in September, 2010
