Courses at the School of Industrial Design

Only students enrolled at an Industrial Design program at their home university can apply for courses at the School of Industrial Design at LTH. A digital portfolio in pdf format and less than 10MB in size should be attached to the application.

Courses for exchange students at the School of Industrial Design, Autumn 2018

Please be aware when preparing your application for exchange studies:

1# You cannot combine courses from different semesters. Exchange students at the School of Industrial Design, must follow one course package (semester) in the ordinary BA or MA programme. It is not possible to freely combine courses from different course packages since it will cause clashes in the schedule.

The students admitted to exchange studies will automatically be offered courses belonging to the course package (semester) within the Industrial Design program in which they will be placed after the portfolio screening.

2# Full time studies at Lund University is 30 credits. It is your responsibility to create a study plan of 30 credits and check with your home university about course accreditation.

3# A complete application includes a transcript of records, a list of ongoing courses (if it is not stated in the transcript of records) and a portfolio (more information below). If you do not submit all the required documents, your application will not be reviewed.

As an applicant for exchange studies at the School of Industrial Design, you are required to submit specific documents that demonstrate that you have the necessary qualifications to benefit from the exchange period.

The required document consists of 4 parts:

1# A first page where you state in which semester you would like to be placed here at Lund University and which semester of industrial design studies you would be studying at your home university if you were not going on exchange. Please specify the courses that you want to take at Lund University.

2# The digital portfolio itself, were you present your design work. When group work is included indicate clearly the role you played in the project and in case professional work is presented, indicate clearly your contribution to the project. The digital portfolio must be in Pdf format and less than 10 MB in size.

3# The Statement of Purpose (one page maximum) with your brief description of your motivation to study Industrial Design in Lund.

 The CV. Be sure to include your contact information in the CV

Assemble all your four documents into one file, if possible. If you must send more than one file, add a sequence number before the ”.pdf” extension. The file name must include your full name.

Grading system

Please note that no ECTS grades are awarded for any of the courses offered at LTH.

Industrial design courses:
- 5 (five), 4 (four), 3(three) or U (fail). A higher figure signifies a better grade. In the course syllabus it is marked as TH.

- Pass, G(Godkänd) or Fail, U(Underkänd). In the course syllabus it is marked as UG
