Lund Culture Night at LTH — 16 September 2017

2017-09-11

Lund Culture Night is a celebration of culture held annually on the third Saturday of September. LTH participates with many events and activities.

Programme at Study Center

When: Saturday, September 16, 2017, 14:00-18:00 Technology in practice
Where: LTH Study Center, John Ericssons Väg 4

Meet researchers and students, engage in exciting technology experiments, demonstrations and trial activities for both children and adults.

Automatic control engineering and computer engineering — For the first time we will show to the public our robot lab during the Culture Night.

Once every half hour, we will have guided tours starting from Studiecentrum.

Tomorrow's Smart Products — Discover a variety of Industrial Design Students' Creative Degree Projects - and get to know some of tomorrow's products, new materials and shapes!

Learn more about 3D printers — Take printed 3D products, such as guitars and medical devices, into your hands – and look at the items being printed.

Experiment with LTH's Christmas Calendar — Every year in December thousands of students in Sweden watch the 24 filmed experiments recorder by LTH students. Meet the students who are planning this year's calendar and experiment with them!

Formula Student — test the students’ race car and talk to those who build it and compete with it.

Learn more about nano research — meet researchers and ask questions about nanotechnology

Learn programming — programming for kids and adults, in a simple and playful way.

Medical Technology — discover, for example, how ultrasound works and test eyewear glasses.

What is there in the food we eat? Learn more about food research, ask questions about food, myths and molecules.

Interested in flying? Meet students from Trafikflyghögskolan, who tell you about aviation training in Ljungbyhed.

Do you know that you attend courses to become a drone pilot? Meet a representative from Folk University, who tells about the new course "Commercial Drone Pilot" and watch the drones show.

How do you track invisible plastic residues in the ocean? Our ocean is filled with invisible plastic microplast that can damage both animals and plants. But how do we know if the invisible plastic is in the water? Is it, for example, in the Bay of Lomma? Engineering students at LTH are developing a portable biosensor that can detect and measure the level of the so-called microplasts. Meet them and learn more about their project. The venture is in the framework of an international competition in synthetic biology, iGEM.

The fire experiment moved to Vattenhallen.
