Exhaust Emission control in Diesel Vehicles

Are diesel-powered vehicles so important that they must be accepted? What is being done to reduce the effects they have on the environment and public health? What kind of systems will be used for exhaust emission control in the future?
Solving the problems associated with reducing the emission of compounds from heavy vehicles that are both environmentally damaging and hazardous to health will require a great deal of innovation and research.
At the Department of Chemical Engineering, research is being conducted into methods such as continous reduction using ammonia, continuous reduction using hydrocarbons and NOx storage techniques.
