Many modern products, from cameras to cars, contain electric motors. The development of new materials, among other things, has made it possible to design these motors for specific applications. In many cases, it is a question of making them smaller and more efficient, or being able to manufacture them in a more resource-efficient way than today.
Research and teaching are being carried out on electric motors, and the computational methods employed to develop them, at the Department of Industrial Electrical Engineering & Automation. Research takes place in close collaboration with Swedish industry.
