A major international conference on energy related topics will be held in Birmingham from 8 - 10 September 2008 and will bring together scientists and engineers from around the world to discuss the technological challenges associated with the energy crisis and global climate change. The conference will also include major inputs on public policy and the economics associated with energy since we all recognise that new technology can only be deployed if the policy and economics frame is favourable.
It is our intention to set aside time for a panel of eminent people in the field of energy and energy policy to discuss the issues facing society in this area. It is anticipated that the conference will generate policy statements that will help inform government decisions in the participating countries.
